I am still on a high from the phenomenal Road to Expansion experience we had in Philadelphia last week. Just being in a room full of Pastors and Christians leaders committed to serving more people through their ministries was breathtaking. I was deeply humbled as I witnessed powerful men and women experience spiritual breakthoughs and mental shifts that moved them from merely existing to now expanding in their ministries. What a great way to begin the end of this first quarter of 2012!
Few leaders ever expose the TRUTH about their journey toward expansion for fear of what others may think of them. Let me be the first to admit, for a season it seemed as if NOTHING was working quite like I had planned. I felt with every step forward I was greeted with a wrecking ball whose aim wasn’t to push me back (that would be too easy) it seemingly its sole purpose was to take me out! Yet, somehow in spite of the pain of the moment, I found enough strength to take just one more step forward. And believe me, many times the step was so small no one but me and God noticed I was moving. Just this morning as I drank my cup of coffee and reflected on how far I’ve come despite the “detours and distractions” along my journey I was reminded of something a dear friend told me during one of my lowest moments. He said, “Janice, God never tells us that we won’t fail, instead He constantly reminds us that we will succeed. So while God doesn’t keep us from falling, He ALWAYS gives us a soft place to land.” Increasingly, I have found that statement to ring true in my life.
As I prepare to speak in New York at the Global Christian Event Network Awards in a couple of weeks and gear up for our next RTE event here in Atlanta on March 30th, I am compelled to encourage you along your expansion journey. Remember regardless of what things look like today keep moving forward. God will always provide a safe and soft place for you to land.
Whew lawd!! I am tired, but I had a fabulous time today! Janice Roberson Johnson does not play around when it comes to being clear about who you serve and creating a clear marketing message!! I would say she is a “beast” but I don’t like that term…lol lol Cheryl Pullins
Friday met with U. Sat implemented plan. Sunday neighborhood families joined church!! Are U kidding me?! People need to know that if they implement your strategies, expansion happens immediately! Ralph Graves Jr.
