It Really Does Matter What THEY Say

Yes, it Really Does Matter What THEY Say Did you ever wonder why Jesus asked Peter, "Who do men say that I am?" Surely, He was clear that He is God; so what did it matter what others thought about Him? Jesus knew that in order for his earthly ministry to expand it was imperative that we have a clear view of His image in the marketplace. Even more critical, his team had to know who He was—after all they were extensions ... Read more

Church HATE are you contributing?

"People love God, but hate church." During a recent seminar session phenomenal Pastor and leader, Bill Hybels, made this resounding statement. And you know what? I concur. Big suits draped over even bigger egos. Frilly dresses. Lace socks. Bible toting and scripture quoting. Emphatic, energetic commands spewed from a stage. Seems to me that we make it real easy for "outsiders" to hate what we do and who we are. Aren't we MUCH more that these images? Would you agree that life as ... Read more

Uncovering Ministry Marketing “Connection Factor”

Your BFFM: Uncovering the Ministry Marketing "Connection Factor" Have you found your Best Fit For Me ("BFFM") audience yet? That's what I call my ideal audience – my "BFFMs". Call it tweenish if you like (I am a mother of a preteen) but we actually can learn something from the teen-texting lingo. BFFM suggests that there is more than just a mere association with our audience; on the contrary there exists a potential for a great relationship. Use of the word "target" seems ... Read more

Are you serving snacks or meals?

Are you serving snacks or meals? How to make the most of your ministry marketing! Do you use the snack or full meal approach when it comes to your ministry marketing? I often encounter passionate leaders so enthused about "what they do" and how they "help the world around them" that they overload their audience with information in their marketing. I liken it to being served a five-course meal when all I needed was a light snack. When marketing your ministry are you ... Read more

Soar don’t settle

I hope you got a chance to enjoy some BBQ, baked beans, just plain, good ole fashion grillin' as my uncle would say. Memorial Day, traditionally, marks the beginning of a season of family fun in the sun: beaches, vacations, time with family and friends. While for many this time of year commences an influx of road trips, summer camps, and much needed family get-a-ways, for most churches it often represents a season of stark decline. Decreased attendance, sporadic ... Read more

I do it because it’s FUN, that’s why!

I woke up this morning on a mission. At 7:00AM, I had my weekly "power call" with my MasterMind group, 8:45AM my weekly "marriage moment" with my hubby and a series of other "to-dos" crowded my calendar. For some reason, though, I AM so excited! Don't get me wrong, my day is jammed packed. One glance at my Blackberry and I wonder "did I schedule time to eat today?" Amidst all the appointments and plans there lies within me an overriding ... Read more

You are who you SAY you are!

It snowed last week here in Georgia. For many, this was exciting. For us it was…bittersweet. My daughter was scheduled to play her first basketball playoff game. Due to the weather, their game was cancelled. Not only was her first playoff game canceled, but so was her season. The league decided to only allow the top two teams to play for the championship. Jasmine had just written and recorded her I AM statements a couple of nights before we received this disheartening ... Read more
